Golden Churn butter not halal. Why now announcement?

KUALA LUMPUR: The Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) yesterday confirmed that the ‘Pure Creamery Butter-Golden Churn’ sold in Malaysia is non-halal.

Its director-general Othman Mustapha said the decision was made after finding that the product came from the same factory as that distributed in Sarawak, although they were brought into the country by different importers.
“This was confirmed by the agent of Ballantyne Food from New Zealand, which manufactures the product.
“Therefore, Muslims should not use the product,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

Penemuruai`s comment: How about the Kek Lapis Sarawak? Don`t worry, if so then change your new brand butter. The question was why right now they confirmed that butter was not halal? Did they know that Sarawakian have used that butter for long time to make Kek Lapis Sarawak? Is it speculation? My comment is easy; please check all the in-coming A-Z products.
